Slow IBM Ultrium tape drive throughput
2007-12-24 21:40:00
interface to communicate with IBM Ultrium tape drives. Initially, the
throughput on the tape drives is fast 10-14MB/sec. After several days, we
observe that the tape drive throughput is limited to around 2MB/sec. The slow
throughput issue is temporarily "fixed" by rebooting the system. This
"throttling down" of the SCSI bus/tape drive has been observed on several
different systems.
Has anyone else encountered this problem before? In particular, we are
interested in knowing if anyone has observed the same slow throughput issue
using the "st" driver instead of the "IBMTape" driver.
