Solaris 9: Disappearing routes to interface addresses
2007-12-25 0:26:00
We have an E450 running Solaris 9 suffering an intermitent problem:
It suddenly looses the routes to the interface addresses. For example, I
cannot reach 127.0.0.1 and I have to repeat the "ifconfig lo0 127.0.0.1".
Before the "ifconfig" command, the routing table contains:
(of course, the routes for the local addresses)
224.0.0.0 (hme 0 address) U 1 0 hme0
default (def. gateway address) UG 11563473
And after redoing the ifconfig,
224.0.0.0 (hme 0 address) U 1 0 hme0
default (def. gateway address) UG 11563473
127.0.0.1 127.0.0.1 UH 1 603 lo0
We are not using rdisc, routed or any other routing protocol; just static
routes. And this affects also the hme0 addresses (main and aliases).
Any ideas? I am looking at the patch reports and I cannot find anything. I
am about to downgrade to Solaris 8.
Of course, I will summarize the answers to the list ;-)
Thanks in advance,
Borja.
