I received 4 messages but no real solution.

Jens Fischer <jefi@kat.ina.de> stated, that there ist a newer version of

patch 101979, at least -06. A look at the SunSolve WWW-Server told me

that this patch is obsoleted by 102001 and the currect version is 10.

Version 09 is installed and I will try to upgrade in a few weeks.

Another idea was:

Herbert Wengatz <hwe@uebemc.siemens.de> wrote, that I schould take a look

on the paket size and the collision rate. It could be possible that our

station 20 is on the physical limit of NFS traffic. Herbert prefers a

second ethernet card.

No, we are not using dni.

This info is very interesting. The haning machine is the mail server and not

a nfs server with a lot of traffic. So I assume that the traffic is not

the problem.

To solve our problem I will do the following:

- installing patch 102001-10

- starting ping -s -I 60 at startup

- reducing the net traffic

Thanks for all your help

  Bye
