Most people said that the accountants would be a good one to make
this decision since there are tax breaks involved. Several warned
against leasing from other than reputable vendors. Most agreed that
the residual value after 4 years would depend on where the technology
goes between now and then.

Original Question:
Good Morning all mighty admins:
We are in the final stages of preparing to lease/purchase a
SANs solutions for our 18Tbytes disk storage needs.
Anyone out there have good/bad stories about leasing or purchasing,
which is preferable and why?
Does anyone know what the expected depreciation on SANs disk storage
would be? i.e... Is the hardware we buy today worthless in 3 or 4 years
or would there be some residual resale/trade-in value for it?
