Diskless Booting Questions
2007-12-24 19:06:00
I have running a E450 with Solaris 8 and want to make it a Boot Server
for some older diskless Suns (sun4c, sun4m, etc.) on which should
Debian Linux get installed on.
Here are my questions:
1. Is it enough to install the Solaris 8 DHCP Server Software or do I
one or both of rarpd and tftpd?
2. Are the Bootproms of the old SPARCs able to generate bootp requests
or is RARP the only way to map MAC to IP address for them?
Thank you in advance for your time.
