Sound Problem in Solaris

I am having Sunblade 2500 with Solaris 5.8.
I am facing unique problem with my solaris box. My
beep control manager does not give any beep when i
will receive any mail or I will change the volume
control.
I have checked it through Desktop Controls, I found
that no sound is comming. Also checked with different
user logins but still it is same.
When I rebooted the system with boot -r option, it
worked fine till the next reboot. So everytime I have
to reboot it with boot -r option.
Kindly suggest me some permanant solution.
