551 jumpstart

A debug fello here wants an Ultra with SunOS 5.5.1 to do cda. I
was going to install via jumpstart, but my 5.5.1 jumpstart has failed.
It used to work. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot the scenario where
Solaris 5.5.1 jumpstart hangs (with the spinner spinning overnight) after
printing
domainname: eng.fore.com

Also, if I rerun the ./add_install_client and spec a server in
/etc/bootparams (-s), the jumpstart dies thusly, despite reinstalling:

Specifically, what is this seccond mode of failure trying to say?
Perhaps that I've given it a bogus root pointer and should quit trying to
specify it? Where can I find the source code (I assume it's bourne or
ksh, right?) of this without digging for days? I'd like to trace it out,
but can't find the code..
