diskless clients on solaris 2.7

unable to solve my problem.
I have installed AdminSuite 2.3 Autoclient 2.1 on my sun server which
is running Solaris 2.7. I have set up the machine to be an os server,
but I can't really install what I need in order to set up a diskless client.
/opt/SUNWadm/bin/admdhostmod -x platfrom=sparc.sun4u.Solaris.2_7 name
yields the following message
Error: Error adding OS service Solaris 2.7 sparc sun4u: inconsistent revision,
installed package SUNWarc appears to have been patched reulting in it being
different than the package on your media. You will need to backout all
patches that patch this package before retrying the add OS service operation.
Using the command is equivalent to several steps using hostmgr under
Solstice which I have also tried with the same results.
I have a copy of Sun INFODOC ID 23376 that says I must apply the jumbo patch
104468 so I won't get the above message, and I have applied the patch.
It's up to revision 19. I have also applied the 2.7 patches at kernel
level 106541-14. I am completely mystified as to how to solve this
problem.
Does anyone have suggestion? Buying disks for the machines is not an
answer, unfortunately for reasons that I can't go into here.
Thanks in advance.
