Mutt (Sender Domain must Exist)
2007-12-24 20:51:00
A while back I had inquired on how I could send mutiple attachments from my
UNIX box instead of using uuencode with mailx. Most that replied had
suggested Mutt.
I have since downloaded and installed mutt but now I get this error when
trying
to sent mail via mutt.
"Sender domain must exist"
I have tried editing lines in the Muttrc file but still get the same error
each time.
I am missing some paramater in this file? I am running Solaris 2.6 with
the latest
cluser patch, the box is also a NIS master and uses DNS. It appears that
it picks
up its DNS name and tries to use that as the sender or return address.and
that
seems to be where this error is coming from.
Is there a way I can specify who is sending the email like you can do with
the
-r option in mailx as a return address? Appears I am missing some simple
configuration in the Muttrc file. Also, which directory should this file
be in?
I have is located in /opt/mutt/etc/Muttrc, I have also moved this file to
be in
roots home directory as .muttrc, still no change.
Here is a print out of the mutt -v command.
