/etc/release it would be a guess
from 4/97 , 8/97 or 11/97. I ran "showrev" which gave me the date when Kernel
patch was installed/modified.
Kernel version: SunOS 5.5.1 Generic 103640-24 August 1998
So I'm assuming 11/97 was used.
