Internet Explorer hangs on Sun Box

We have installed Internet Explorer on a Sun box and whenever the
Internet Explorer is started, the system hangs up. The README.txt says
to turn off the shared memory and I am not sure whetehr shmmax is the
only parameter needs to be turned off. Please advice. Thanks.
