Turning off CPU in multiple CPU system

Can I turn off a single Enterprise 450 CPU module via software?
I have two CPUs installed and want to disable one CPU.

I am running checkpoint firewall 1 in a multiple CPU
Enterprise 450. I want to turn off one of the two CPUs
to assure that I do not have a symmetric multiprocessor
code problem.
