hme problems with new switch

2007-12-25 11:22:00

Thanks to

Dennis Martens, Rick Anderson, Douglas Palmer, Joe Fletcher, and Daniel

Luechtefeld for their speedy replies.

I remembered reading that Sun's hme's weren't the best at autonegotiating

with some switches. The fix is to turn off autonegotiation at the interface.

Dennis' /etc/system output summarizes best:

* set network interface parameters to allow full duplex

set hme:hme_adv_autoneg_cap=0

set hme:hme_adv_100fdx_cap=1

set hme:hme_adv_100hdx_cap=0

set hme:hme_adv_10fdx_cap=0

set hme:hme_adv_10hdx_cap=0

*

Thanks again,
