Disksuite limiting IO?

I've encapsulated a disk using disksuite under Solaris 8, the reason being that if I need to grow the device later on I can just concatenate another LUN to it and use growfs.
Anyone know if using straight concatenated metadevices is going to limit IO just by having to pass through the disksuite layer?
