Problem after Setting Up a Print Server
2007-12-25 3:05:00
I've just added a network printer to a Solaris 8 machine using LP commands
based on a standard sequence from SUN's "System Administrator's Guide" (2nd
edition) by Janice Windsor... it's the lpadmin / accept / enable sequence
and I'm pretty sure I've done it correctly, this same procedure is given in
a lot of other places on the web also, e.g.
http://developers.sun.com/solaris/articles/basicprinting.html
However, when I try to print a test text file, I get the error
UX:lp:6 WARNING: cannot read temporary file ""
TO FIX: see if file still exists, or consult your system administrator;
printing continues
Any ideas? I've seen a post with the same problem on this list a couple of
years ago but unfortunately no summary...
Many Thanks,
John Kelly.
