Quick NFS and SSH Related Question

I have a very quick question for you guys. I have a NFS server running
and 1 client that mounts 2 of the servers disks. The nfs service was
shutdown without umounting the disks on the client and something
unexpected occured. I was unable to ssh to the nfs server from the client
and it kept timing out for some reason. I checked everything that could
be causing the problem but nothing seem to be working so I decided to
restart the nfs service and the ssh connection seemed to come back to
normal and worked without any problems. So, I was wondering if there is
any connection between the two.
