[Q] what is difference between Solaris upgrade, Maintenance update, ...?

I have SUn SOlaris 8 4/10 release installed. I just received the Solaris
8 7/01. my question are:

1. what difference between perform upgrade, Maintenance update (CD in
box) and SUN recommend patches set (download from Sunslove)?

2. which one is better choice?

3. is it worth upgade from 04/01 to 07/01?
