Exabyte 8500 params

2007-12-25 7:44:00

Hello everybody !

Sorry for my late summary, but I married two days after my query, and then

I needed two weeks to recover myself from that. :-)

Now, here is my original posting:

I have to thank the following:

Terry Figel <admin%esrg@hub.ucsb.edu>

Todd Pfaff <todd@flex.Eng.McMaster.CA>

Jay Lessert <bit!jayl>

Bob Reardon <reardon@sws.SINet.SLB.COM>

Danielle Sanine <danielle@systems.caltech.edu>

Calum Mackay <calum@mrc-biostatistics.cambridge.ac.uk>

Vlastimil Malinek <vlastimil.malinek@mrc-applied-psychology.cambridge.ac.uk>

Larry Chin <cchtor!larry>

Kjell Magnus Myge <kjmm@statoil.no>

Bob Rutherford <rr6204@moses.boeing.com>

Helmar Goettsch <goettsch@informatik.tu-muenchen.de>

Martin Tews <tews@dfki.uni-sb.de>

The solution:

The most of you take the following parameters for dumping to a 8500 in

5-GB-mode:

s=10380

d=4100000

b=112

When you try this, be sure to take rst[8-15] as the device for the 8500.

(I myself made this mistake: our 8500 comes up as rst4, and of course, I have

to use rst12 to get 5-GB-mode. :-))

Thanks again to all who responded.

Carsten Hennig
