serial console from linux (minicom) to solaris

All I want to do is have my rusty old IBM Thinkpad run Solaris so that I can
study for my Solaris 8 exam when I'm not at home with my Ultra 5. I'm still
waiting for my Solaris 8 Intel media kit, but in the meantime, my Thinkpad
380D is running Solaris 2.6
