DLT 8k on SF4800

I am having a problem with DLT 8k drives in a ATL P3000 library attached to a SF4800. The scsi cards are dual port PCI UDWS, the drives are also UDWS.The problem is performance of
the drives. They will sit at a couple hundred k p/s then write at 5 +mb p/s.
I have tried using an entry in st.conf for the DLT8k and with or without the entry it dose not seem to make a difference. ATL has inspected the library and found no problems. This
problem just started occurring for seemingly no reason at all. doing backups across a 100mb Ethernet I could depend on 2mb p/s on each drive, but no longer. If anybody has had the
same experience please let me know what you have done to fix it.
