Working with HP, I have determined that the following Solaris 2.6 st.conf

entry works with OmniBack 3.0 .

        "QUANTUM DLT7000", "Quantum DLT700", "DLT7k-data",

        "Quantum DLT7000", "Quantum DLT700", "DLT7k-data";

DLT7k-data= 1,0x77,0,0x1D639,4,0x82,0x83,0x84,0x85,2;

BTW, OmniBack 3.1 is not as sensitive to the st.conf entry.
