Fw: Tmp file too large
2007-12-24 19:12:00
I want to thank for all those responses for my mail.
I just wanted to consolidate all replies and my findings regarding my mail
where I had problems with vi.
I came to conclusion that there's some bug in Solaris's vi where vi cannot
open a file if its size crosses certain limit.
I still need to check that magic number.
There was no problem regarding space in /var/tmp.
I am using vim to open large files. It opens such large files but it takes
lots of time to open it.
Other tools like sed or awk are also good to work with such large files.
Thanks,
Ashish
