need help for FTP

Hi Gurus

I have to connect to one FTp site daily & download files from that site =
. I have written one script which is doing this job for me .
Now my problem is this that i am getting all files which i downloaded =
last day also . But i want to differentiate the files by using access =
time are some other attribute , so that i will get only new files added =
to that directory . But i am unable to get that how to do this through =
script . Is there any way to do this . Can i execute shell scripts on =
FTP prompt on remote server to do this .
Any help regarding this will be appreciated .
