DLT8000 firmware patch 112067-01 corrupts SBU 6.0

I faced a very weird problem. I have a
P2000 tape library with 6 Dlt 8000 drives. Since they
have a frimware rev of 44 ,i went to upgrade them with
the patch id 112067-01 to 80. But it failed with the
following output.

Write Buffer Command Failed; Aborting Download
Although i had stopped my Solstice Backup 6.0
daemons,it some how corrupted it. when i tried
starting the daemon,the nsr server never came up.
Luckly i was able to restore it via the backup and
scanner command,else i would have been typing my
resignation letter instead of this mail
Has anyone faced this problem. Any suggestions
