If all you are looking for is to get timely information on security
problems, this list (presuming you're on it) is nearly sufficient.
Messages from CERT that appear here have included ones about Next,
Apollo, AT&T, and VMS, if I remember correctly. I can't recall seeing
a single posting in comp.security.announce from CERT that I didn't
see first in this mailing list (mostly because I check my mail more
often than news.
Sometimes it gets annoying when I see the same posting in two mailing
lists and three news groups, plus have others who read it and pass it
along (just trying to be helpful). But it beats not knowing about it.
