raw devices..

As per our company policy..we are supposed to use raw devices for our
databases (sybase)..unfortunately instead of using /dev/vx/rdsk...for
building databases in production we used /dev/vx/dsk...is it going to effect
in any way? we didn't make any file systems on that..now there is no way we
can change the device...can anybody please advice if it is going to create
any major problem in future?
any help is highly appreciated...
