Solaris 8 - Autoconfigure failed
2007-12-24 23:47:00
I have a 1.5TB external fibre channel storage (Mylex FFX). I'm attaching the
storage to Solaris 8 on Ultra 5 using Qlogic 2310 but I'm unable to format
it right. When I tried to format it initially, it said wrong magic number,
corrupt disk label. Format asked me disk type and couldn't autoconfigure. It
generated following error message:
Mode sense page(3) reports nsect value as 128, adjusting it to -46 Auto
configure failed
Somehow I can't get the drive geometry automatically.
If I choose 'other' as disk type and give random CHS values it takes it and
makes a disk type.
Is there any patch that I'm missing?
Thanks.
