Solaris 8 & apache + modssl + modperl

Has anybody built Apache with modssl + openssl + modperl?
I have built apache 1.3.x + modssl + openssl.
But how can i also build modperl with it.
it has been suggested that i build apache + modssl +
openssl on one build, and a second apache + mod perl, and
run them both on separate ports. One is the webserver, and
the other does the encryption.
any thoughts, ideas would be appreciated.
