My original question:

I have 2 questions of the roadway to CSA. I try to contact Sun Edu. service

but I can not got a clear answer from them. Sun Rep. told me to call Drake

center to take a test. But, I just want to know what material should I prepare

befor taking the test.

1) What process or how do we apply for the test?.

2) How many test and how diff. is it?

Here is the summary of responded.

I got 50% suggest not to waste the time for the CSA test. Everything base is

on your experience, if you're looking for a job. Nobody accepts certification as

valid without experience. If you have the experience, you don't need the

certification.

The other 50% said. The CSA consist of two exams. The first is based on SUN's SA-135

class titled "Solaris 2.X System Administration Essentials". The second

is based on the SA-285 class titled "Solaris 2.X Systems Administration".

The test are administered thru Drake Prometrics. You don't have to take

the class to take the exam but it sure helps. You could take a similar

class from another education provider. The exams could be taken

together or separate. They consist of 80-120 questions chosen in

random of which you have to get 75% correct to pass. They are chosen

in random so if you fail the first time you get a different test the second

time. It costs between $100-$150 depend on your location. Some recommended the

"System Administrator's Guide, 2nd Ed." (ISBN 1-56276-080-7), and the

"Advanced System Administrator's Guide",(ISBN 1-56276-131-5) both by Janice Windsor.
