Upgrade from 32bit to 64bit with VXVM3.0.4 encapsulated Disks

I have installed Solars 7 without the 64 bit packages.
Now, I want to add the 64 bit packages too.
The system has Veritas Volume Manager encapsulated disks. What is the
correct procedure to follow for this?
I am thinking, I need to follow the complete upgrade procedure
again(starting from the veritas upgrade_start script), but that seems very
time consuming, is there any other way?
