SUN Blade 2000 XVR 1000 question

We just bought a few Sun Blade 2000 with dual processors (U3Sparc) and high
end video options XVR-1000 cards. These new framebuffers support dual
monitor and DVI interface. The systems are running Solaris 9. I figured out
how to set the dual monitor option and the resolution settings. However, I
cannot figure out how to set the color depth of the framebuffer. It defaults
to 24 bit when I need for it to be set at 8 bit psuedocolor so that I can
run our most critical app, Cadence.
If any one has any information on setting the color depth of these new
cards, I would really appreciate it.
