Installing a Phobos QFE adapter

2007-12-24 22:22:00

I have a Sun E450 running Solaris 2.8.
I began by trying to follow the instructions to the letter only to find the
package location specified did not exist.
I found some tar files with the correct package names and tar'd the file to
a temp directory and ran pkgadd.
I got the following: -
The following packages are available:
1 phbslink Phobos PhobosLink Trunking(Port Aggregation) Software
(sparc) 1.0
2 phbsp430 Phobos P430 Adapter Driver for 32 bit PCI QuadPort
10/100BaseT Adapter
(sparc) 1.0

I select all and get the following: -
## Installing part 1 of 1.
/etc/init.d/plconf.sh
/kernel/drv/plink
/kernel/drv/plink.conf
/sbin/plconf
/sbin/plstat
/usr/bin/plink_config
[ verifying class <none> ]
/etc/rcS.d/S15plconf <linked pathname>
## Executing postinstall script.
exit status = 0
devfsadm: driver failed to attach: plink
exit status = 11
Warning: Driver (plink) successfully added to system but failed to attach
Driver (plink) installed.

Installation of <phbslink> was successful.

Notice the 'failed to attach message?' This occurs for both packages. If
you try and plumb the interface you get the following: -
ifconfig: plumb: pqfe0: Bad file number
There is not entry for this device in the /devices/pseudo (I got this from
truss)
784: so_socket(2, 1, 0, "", 4) = 3
784: open("/dev/pqfe0", O_RDWR) Err#2 ENOENT
784: open("/dev/pqfe", O_RDWR) Err#2 ENOENT
784: close(-1) Err#9 EBADF

Any help appreciated.
