Installing RH 3 on V20z

Gurus,
I have installed RedHat 3 on V20z couple of times. The strange thing
is that installation does not recognize the system as multi processor
and therefor, does not install kernel SMP RPM.Did anyone see similar
behavior? Should I install the SMP rmp or recompile kernel?
