bootimate/installation for emergency case
2007-12-24 22:41:00
I wonder how to re-install our systems in an emergency case, e.g. all
system harddisks will crash.
We have a backup of the filesystems on tapes, but the partition tabels
of the HDs are not backed up.
So when everything would crash, we would exchange the disks, install
solaris and a backup client (in case its not the backupserver dying)
and use the tapes to bring the applications on the system again. But as
I said, we have to edit the partition table manually. Also we run the
systems in cluster mode, which is making things not easier I think...
Is there any easier solution, or some bootcd from sun for those cases?
best regards, Johannes.
