Perhaps this is off topic, but I have the following problem:
I am running iPlanet 4.1 SP5 and Sun Java JDK1.3 on Solaris 2.6. and I am
experiencing problems when trying to shut down the webserver. It hangs and
is not calling the destroy() method of my servlets. The only thing that
seems to work is a kill -9, but this is not very elegant...
I've seen some postings about the shutdown hook in 1.3 blocking the
webserver from shutting down properly, but no solutions. Has anyone
experienced the same problem and what are the possible solutions?
