Cluster: Sun Fire v20z and Sun StorEdge FC-8 Switches

Sun is currently selling those V20z running on the Opteron
processor and with the FC-AL (X9279A). I was thinking of using
a spare T3 for the storage. When I look at the website of Sun,
it only mentions Solaris-based OS for compatibility with the
FC-8 switches. Is it compatible also with Linux?
Also would the new FC-AL cards (2GB) work with the older Sun FC-8
switches (w/o 2GB)?
