Solaris Downgrade Upgrade

I have an E450 which I have installed Solaris 10 on but now I have a problem.

Unfortunately I need QFS on this machine and it is not available for Solaris
10 and so I now need to put Solaris 9 back on it again...

Would it be OK for me to "upgrade" the machine with Solaris 9 ie do an upgrade
install?
