Desktop Controls does not work in CDE

Dear Sun Managers,

I've a Solaris machine recently upgraded from Solaris
7 to 8. At the same time, the hummingbird Exceed was
upgraded from 8 to 9 as well on all the users station.

After the upgrade, my users have problem to invoke the
Desktop_Controls. Users log in to CDE via the Exceed
software. After the login, right mouse click, select
Tools --> Desktop Controls

users encounter the following errors....

Heading: "File Manager Open Directory Error"
Content: The folder specification,
/home/ks124002/(pid168)sr/dt/appconfig/appmanager/C/Desktop_Controls
does not exist.

User goes into the home directory and the directory is
not there. I've done a research on Solaris portion and
found out that the Desktop_Controls directory should
be resided in
/usr/dt/appconfig/appmanager/C/Desktop_Controls or
/etc/dt/appconfig/appmanager/C/Desktop_Controls but
not in your user home directory.

I would like to know whether is there any support
compatiblity issue between Exceed 9 and Solaris 8? If
no, how can I remedy this problem. I would like to
know whether is this Solaris CDE problem or Exceed
problem? I need to know so that I can escalate this
problem to the right channel.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Tim
