SUMMARY: Turning off Xserver

2007-12-24 20:30:00

Got a bunch of quick replies as usual.
Thanks W. Enestvedt, Ice, T. Evans, J. Dobson, E. Rolison, S. Elliot, F.
DeMontier, J. Martinez

/usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -d did the trick.
A few suggested removing or renaming the /etc/rc2.d/S99dtlogin file.
But I didn't have this file. (I'm running Solaris 8, maybe it doesn't use
it?)

Subject: Turning off Xserver

How can I turn off Xserver and CDE? I built this server with a monitor
and keyboard attached. Now, whenever I login through the Terminal
server I see this. It doesn't cause any problems, it's just annoying.
