Additional Info: Remote host drops all connections after NIS+ client setup

instead of nisplus, then the box started accepting connections for ftp,
telnet, etc. again. So this is only a temporary fix till I can get it to
correctly accept services via nisplus.
However SSH was still hosed. I had a similiar problem a couple of years
ago and I remembered that I had recompiled sshd and it fixed
mysteriously the problem. So I blew out sshd and re-compiled it, and
boom, then I could connect using ssh once again.
So now I'm wondering why setting this particular box up as a nisplus
client would mess up sshd, when I've done the same thing on dozens of
other machines with no ill effects.
