Slow jumpstart on Netra X1...

I have a couple of Netra X1 400MHz, and I'm trying to jumpstart one from
another.
So on the first Netra (Solaris 8 7/01) I created an install server, applied
patches from
http://www.sun.com/products-n-solutions/hw/networking/solutions/sunsnetra.ht
ml, and then I added client using:
add_install_client -i <client_ip_address> -e <client_MAC_address> -c
<server_name>:/jumpstart -s <server_name>:/install <host_name> sun4u
On the other Netra I issused:
boot net - install
It actually booted okay and performed the installation. The thing which
bothers me is that it took 15 hours (!!!) to finish istalling just 460Mb of
packages (the end user software group).
Later I found that if I put name_service=NONE in sysidcfg file the
installation completes in 20 minutes, but if this parameter set to DNS
{domain_name=..... name_server=....} than it took such a long time to finish
the process.
We do not use NIS/NIS+, just DNS.
I tried different combinations (files dns , dns files, files
[NOTFOUND=return] dns) in nsswitch.conf - no difference.
>From packets snooping it looks like the majority of time the servers
exchanging files attibutes...
