Slow Patch Cluster Installs

I'm installing the recommended patch cluster

I've noticed that maintenance updates and recommended patch installs take
forever. 1hr to install a patch cluster and 3-4hrs for a maintenance
update seems silly.
Why does patching solaris take so long?
Is there any way to speed up the patch install?
