Removing stale disk devices

I have a pair of V880s connected to a StorageTek SAN using JNI HBAs and the
StorageTek RDAC driver. When I remove LUN mappings from the SAN, typically the
disk devices disappear automatically, which I think is a function of the RDAC
driver. I have one machine though, where a few devices were left behind and
when I run format I see this:

6. c3t1d4 <drive type unknown>
/pseudo/rdnexus at 3/rdriver at 1,4
7. c3t1d10 <drive type unknown>
/pseudo/rdnexus at 3/rdriver at 1,a

How do I safely and properly remove those without rebooting the system?
