v250 disks

We had 4 sun 73gb disks in a v250 and we've added 2
compaq 73gbs but when sql queries are run they are
noticeably sitting around...i notice in iostat the %b
column now hardly alters whereas it ramps up to copy
without the disks and performs better. Neither of the
new disks are being used. I'm guessing it might be
reducing the overall bus speed of the machine ? But
how to prove and what to do about it I'm unsure of ? I
checked out the spec of the compaq disks and they do
support ultrascsi2 lvd so I'm not sure why the
slowdown...
Any help much appreciated.
