v250 memory

hi
I have a v250 with 2 x 1gb DDR 2100 hypertec memory in
it. I bought some extra - 2 x 1gb DDR thats 2700 from
crucial but it doesn't like it...I've read the manual
about matching "pairs" but not about matching the lot
and I thought the faster speed might run at the lower
? Am I mistaken ? Do I need to get 2100 memory to make
this work ?
