Orig Question

I have SunOS 4.1.3 & SunOS 4.1.4

I have an HP tape drive.(Product C1533A)

I have hooked up this tape drive on the sun workstation at sci-id 4

When i do probe-scsi the machine sees the tape drive.

When i boot it up and do mt -f /dev/rst0 rew, i get the followin.

st0: Generic Drive, Vendor=<HP >

Unknown type- assuming 0.25 inch catridge

Variable record lenght I/O

/dev/rst0: no tape loaded or drive offline.

There is a tape in the drive. This message comes even after a while.

everytime it comes up with the same error message, that tape is offline

& not loaded.

What seems to be the problem

How do i make the HP tape drive work with the Sun workstation .
