Ultra Sparc IIIi processors - comparison to Sparc III

All,
The newly released Sparc IIIi processors have 1MB L2 cache (integrated) but no
other external cache, compared to 8MB of external cache available in Sparc III
processors (which have 512K L2 cache).
Any idea how would this affect/improve performance?
