Resetting a Serial Port

Hello everybody,
I'd like to know if exists a way to reset a serial port on solaris;
On my server it seems that some defunct processes keep serial port
busy; I can't kill these process and I can't reboot (production server).
If I lauch the following command "stty < /dev/ttyb" nothing happens
(the command hangs...) Can anybody help me?
