pwd: getwd: can't open ..

Solution:

The problem is with the mount point on the NFS client. [User Home Dir(s)

were NFS mounted too!]

Umount your Home Dir(s) on the erroneous Machine and check the Permissions

of the Dir it was mounted over. It needs to be at least r-xr-xr-x in order to

read files or traverse directory tree. or chmod 755 on the Home Dir and mount

it over! This works.

Other suggestions:

>Why not use shelltool ? :-)

shelltool, xterm .. etc will encounter the same problem! :-(

>Check your permissions on the /tmp.

/tmp was fine in our case.
