Sun StorEdge PCI Single Channel Ultra320 SCSI HBA and Solaris 8

I'm wondering if any of you know whether or not a Sun StorEdge PCI
Single Channel Ultra320 SCSI HBA (part number SGXPCI1SCSILM320-Z)
will work in a Sun V440 under Solaris 8. My hunch is no, since only
Solaris 9 and Solaris 10 are mentioned in the docs (819-2539-11.pdf)
but I wanted to make sure.
I checked on the HCL (http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/) but didn't
see the card mentioned there either.
